Eddie Murphy Tracey Edmonds Split: More Juicy Info

Eddie Murphy as a Jekyll and Hyde? That's what the reports are saying about his recent split with Tracey Edmonds after only 2 weeks of ceremonial marriage. Initial reports had been that the couple split after Edmonds refused to sign a prenuptial agreement. But recently, insiders are saying that Murphy and Edmonds broke it off after Eddie Murphy became physically intimidating and controlling toward Edmonds.

The New York Post was told by the anonymous source, "That was kind of the last straw. She was happy to sign a prenup - she has her own money. She was very accommodating. But then it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."

The source also stated that Eddie Murphy wanted to take his MOTHER on the honeymoon with he and Edmonds.

"Eddie became very controlling and insisted on bringing his mother on their honeymoon," the source stated further.

"They got into a huge fight. He started screaming at her and grabbed her. She was scared."

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were married on an island in French Polynesia on New Year's Day. Although the couple had announced that they would have a civil ceremony once they returned to the US, Murphy and Edmonds never followed up.

The inside source says that Edmonds was initially quite devoted to Murphy, "She was even willing to change her name to Tracey Murphy, and all the wedding invites and place cards had her labeled as such."

Edmonds' reps had nothing to say, but Murphy's reps stated, "We won't comment any further on this."

There were also reports that Murphy's mother did not get along with Edmonds and that this was a source of stress in the marriage. Eddie then allegedly sided with his mother, which led to further alienation for Edmonds. Finally, Edmonds' own children were apparently not too happy with Murphy, leading to additional conflict.

Murphy has five children with his wife, Nicole. He also had another child with Mel B, the former Spice Girl.

Wyclef Jean Says Lauryn Hill Should be Locked Up

Damn Wyclef, how you gonna diss Lauryn like that?

Wyclef Jean, who has no shortage of issues of his own, had this to say about Lauryn Hill:

“Half of your face has red make-up, the other half green, and your hair is barely combed. How you gonna let people see you like that? Someone is pimping Lauryn right now. A true friend would say, ‘You have to check yourself into a psychiatrist."


Wyclef had some other interesting things to say about Lauryn, even claiming that she is being pimped.

"Someone is pimping Lauryn right now. A true friend would say, 'You have to check yourself into a psychiatrist,'" Wyclef told Giant magazine.

In November, Wyclef Jean also said that Lauryn Hill is bipolar and that he had reached out to her mother for help.

While all this is happening, Lauryn Hill is on her way to having her fifth child with the son of Bob Marley, Rohan. There are rumors that the singer has had financial troubles as well. Lauryn Hill's return tour led to her being booed by crowds and speculation that she is troubled in a multitude of ways.

The harsh words by Wyclef Jean aren't likely to help. "I am not sure how productive it is for him to diss her in public," Dr. Boyce Watkins said on CBS. "It would seem to me that Wyclef Jean would handle this behind closed doors."

Lil Wayne Jailed for Drugs

Lil Wayne, the hottest rapper in America right now, was arrested for felony drug possession early Wednesday. The arrest occurred as the bus was being stopped at the California-Arizona border checkpoint.

Lil Wayne, actually named Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested for alleged possession of cocaine and ecstasy, in addition to drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Yuma County Jail on a $10,185 bond.

Other passengers on the bus with Lil Wayne included Curtis Stewart and Harold Johnson, who were both arrested for marijuana possession.

The bus was stopped by the Border Patrol agents at 11:30 pm Tuesday, after a dog smelled drugs on board. The amount of drugs on the bus included the following:

105 grams of marijuana
29 grams of cocaine
41 grams of ecstasy

Authorities also allegedly recovered a .40 caliber pistol. The gun was registered to Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne is not the only hot rapper to be arrested recently. The rapper TI was also arrested for felony weapons possession. The rappers are not without support. Dr. Boyce Watkins argued in a recent column that the scrutiny of rappers can lead to excess incarceration at times.

"If anyone had the feds following them around the country all the time, many of us would end up in jail," says Dr. Watkins. "This does not imply that I think Lil Wayne is a good person, I am not sure of that. But the truth is that many Hollywood celebs engage in drug abuse, but they are not being followed around by the cops."

To supplement the nominations he received for his poor acting, Murphy was given a screenplay nomination for his role in writing the film.

"We decided that each of his characters was so offensive that he deserved individual nominations," said Razzies founder John Wilson.

According to Wilson, Murphy's closest competition for worst screen couple is Lohan in "I Know Who Killed Me," in which she plays a small-town girl abducted by a psychopath and an alter-ego, a stripper who's missing body parts.
