Shocker: Autopsy Says Michael Jackson’s Doctor Killed Him

Singer Michael Jackson had lethal levels of the drug propofol in his blood when he died, according to court documents.

A search warrant filed in court showed toxicology reports found propofol in Michael Jackson's body.

A search warrant filed in court showed toxicology reports found propofol in Michael Jackson's body.

Los Angeles' coroner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran reached that preliminary conclusion after reviewing toxicology results carried out on Jackson's blood, according to an affidavit.

The drug Diprivan, known by its generic name propofol, is administered intravenously in operating rooms as a general anesthetic, the manufacturer AstraZeneca told CNN.

A source close to the investigation told CNN that Dr. Conrad Murray is believed to have administered the drug to Jackson within 24 hours of his death on June 25.

Investigators have searched Murray's home and clinics for evidence related to the anesthetic propofol, according to documents filed in court.

The drug works as a depressant on the central nervous system.

"It works on your brain," said Dr. Zeev Kain, the chair of the anesthesiology department at the University of California --Irvine. "It basically puts the entire brain to sleep."

Joe Jackson Won't Help Raise Son's Children

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Joe Jackson doesn't plan to help raise Michael Jackson's three children.

The Jackson family patriarch lives in Las Vegas and wrote in a statement filed in a Los Angeles court on Monday that he only occasionally visits the family home in the San Fernando Valley, north of downtown Los Angeles.

"I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth," Jackson wrote in the declaration dated July 13. "I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children."

Kanye West Never Said He Was the King of Pop

Kanye West

Kanye West may have made a lot of boasts in his career, but claiming to be the new King of Pop following the death of Michael Jackson is not one of them.

The superstar rapper hit his official Web site to shoot down rumors that he's taking the title from the late Michael Jackson.

"I was just listening to [radio host] Wendy Williams and heard some quote about me saying I'm the new King of Pop," he wrote. "Not only did I not say that, I haven't said anything."

Kanye also blogged that it upsets him that people would think he would make such a statement following Michael's death.

Katherine Jackson’s Request for Michael’s Estate Info Gets Rejected

katherine%20jackson

The legal team for Michael Jackson's mother on Tuesday asked a judge for the power to press the administrators of her son's estate for more information ahead of a key hearing next week, but the judge rebuffed the effort.

Lawyers for Katherine Jackson on Tuesday requested the authority to interview attorney John Branca and former music executive John McClain this Friday, as well as demand they produce business contracts and other documents related to the late pop star.

Her lawyers argued in a court filing that the information was "potentially crucial" to a hearing set for Monday that could determine the permanent representatives of Jackson's estate, which is estimated to be worth more than $500 million.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff put off dealing with their request until Monday, effectively quashing it.

Joe Jackson Says He Never Abused Michael

Joe Jackson told CNN's Larry King he suspected foul play was involved in his son's death last month.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's father told CNN's Larry King Monday night that he never beat his son or made any mistakes in raising him. Joe Jackson told CNN's Larry King he suspected foul play was involved in his son's death last month.

Joe Jackson also said the rumor that he wanted to take the singer's children on tour as the Jackson 3 was "a bunch of jive."

Jackson repeated his suspicion that foul play was involved in his son's death last month, but he conceded he did not know what happened. He said he had been blocked from seeing or talking to his son in the days before his death.

There were indications in the interview with Jackson, who was in Las Vegas, that he was not being included in all of the family's activities in recent weeks.

When King asked about the findings of the private autopsy -- which daughter LaToya Jackson last week said she's seen -- Joe Jackson answered "Well, they have not showed it to me, Larry. I'll put it like that."

He also said he did not know where his son's body has been kept since the memorial service.

"You'd have to ask somebody that knows," he said. "I don't know."

Jackson denied that he was legally separated from Katherine Jackson -- his wife of 60 years -- although he did say he spends most of his time in Las Vegas. His wife lives in the family home in Encino, California.

He denied a report that he had agreed to sign a document saying he would not be involved in helping raise Michael Jackson's three children as a way to help his wife retain custody of them.

"I've never said I was going to sign any papers to that effect," he said.

YourBlackCelebrities: Jacksons Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Jacksons will receive a lifetime achievement award during performing rights group BMI's eighth annual Urban Awards on September 4.

Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson will be bestowed with the Icon award during the ceremony, which honors the most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs of the past year in the BMI repertoire.

A BMI spokeswoman said Michael Jackson has yet to confirm his attendance, but the others will on hand at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills. As honorees, the Jacksons will not perform. Other artists, as yet unannounced, will take the stage to cover the group's songs.

Starting out as The Jackson 5 in their hometown of Gary, Ind., the siblings found fame at Motown Records where they enjoyed a string of hits beginning with 1969's "I Want You Back."

Later smashes included "Enjoy Yourself," "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" and "State of Shock" with Mick Jagger, released in 1984 at the height of Michael Jackson's stardom.
