Black Celebrity Gossip: Chris Brown and Rihanna: "Assault with a deadly Weapon"

via AutumnJones by autumnjonesblog@gmail.com (AutumnJones) on 2/9/09

(Rihanna in this picture looks like she's crying)

The above pictures show Rihanna and Chris at both the gas station and leaving Clive Davis pre-grammy party in Chris's Lambo. This was all just minutes before the alleged attack.

Various media outlets are confirming that Rihanna is indeed the reported victim, as everyone speculated. The LAPD is expected to give a briefing on the case later on this evening (PST).

As I reported earlier Chris has been charged with one count felony criminal threats however new reports state Chris will likely also be charged with a Deadly Weapons charge. According to several outlets the report is stating Rihanna who's real name is (Robyn Rihanna Fenty) is the victim. These charges could result in up to 9 years in prison for Chris. Chris's court date has been set to March 5th.

Of course Rumors are spreading stating that Rihanna gave Chris Herpes, being that she was spotted with a cold sore a few weeks back, drunken fight, and to a jealous rage and fight due to another man/woman being in the picture.

Word is also that this is not the first time that their relationship has gotten physical.

Chris has discussed openly about how his stepfather was physically abusive toward his mother. Chris has also secured high powered attorney Mark Geragos, the same lawyer for Michael Jackson who helped him defeat those molestation charges.

Black Celebrity Models: Ciara Signs a New Deal

R&B singer Ciara has signed with modeling agency Wilhelmina and is in talks to launch her own clothing line.

Wilhelmina will now focus on casting Ciara, who’s currently ending a print modeling run for Jay-Z's Rocawear line, in both clothing and fragrance campaigns, according to the singer.

"Modeling has always been one of my aspirations," says Ciara. "But I was
insecure about my height. I thought I was 5'7" but I just found out that I'm 5'8" so I'm really excited about that."

Ciara’s also in talks with the budget-friendly department store, Steve & Barry's, to create a reasonably priced clothing line that bridges her personal style with affordable price points. Steve & Barry's also carries Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line as well as the New York Knicks' Stephon Marbury's Starbury collection.

"I have a couple of cool things that I'm working on," says Ciara. "The coolest thing about Steve & Barry's is they cater to everyday people. I won't say that my line will be like theirs, I want to stay true to who I am, but most importantly it has to be affordable."

Ciara is also in the midst of prepping her third album, "Fantasy Ride," set for September via Jive. Her last album, 2006's "Evolution," has sold 1.3 million copies to-date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Daughter of Juvenile Killed by Her Older Brother

Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr., a 17-year-old, has been charged with the murder of his mother and two sisters. One of the girls was the daughter of the rapper Juvenile.

The victims were identified as Joy Deleston, 39, and her two daughters, Micaiah, 11, and Jelani, 4.

Ms. Deleston was a Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy. Juvenile, whose real name is Terius Gray, is 32 years old.

To avoid any conflict of interest, Deleston's son was taken to a different jail in DeKalb County, rather than the jail in Gwinnett, where his mother worked. Prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty because of the boy's age.

Police came to the home after receiving a 911 call about shots being fired. They entered the home and the 17 year old arrived to the house 35 minutes later. After talking with deputies, he was arrested.

Juvenile has been arrested a few times himself. He has been charged with failure to pay child support, resisting arrest and a few other things. However, many of the charges against Juvenile were dismissed.

Lil Wayne Jailed for Drugs

Lil Wayne, the hottest rapper in America right now, was arrested for felony drug possession early Wednesday. The arrest occurred as the bus was being stopped at the California-Arizona border checkpoint.

Lil Wayne, actually named Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested for alleged possession of cocaine and ecstasy, in addition to drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Yuma County Jail on a $10,185 bond.

Other passengers on the bus with Lil Wayne included Curtis Stewart and Harold Johnson, who were both arrested for marijuana possession.

The bus was stopped by the Border Patrol agents at 11:30 pm Tuesday, after a dog smelled drugs on board. The amount of drugs on the bus included the following:

105 grams of marijuana
29 grams of cocaine
41 grams of ecstasy

Authorities also allegedly recovered a .40 caliber pistol. The gun was registered to Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne is not the only hot rapper to be arrested recently. The rapper TI was also arrested for felony weapons possession. The rappers are not without support. Dr. Boyce Watkins argued in a recent column that the scrutiny of rappers can lead to excess incarceration at times.

"If anyone had the feds following them around the country all the time, many of us would end up in jail," says Dr. Watkins. "This does not imply that I think Lil Wayne is a good person, I am not sure of that. But the truth is that many Hollywood celebs engage in drug abuse, but they are not being followed around by the cops."

Eddie Murphy Sets Embarrassing Record for Razzie Nominations with Norbit

Eddie Murphy was one of the leading vote getters for the Razzies, awards given to Hollywood's worst performances.

Murphy got the nominations for his film "Norbit", receiving eight nominations in all. Five of the nominations were for Murphy alone, more than anyone has received in a single year.

Along with worst picture, Murphy was also nominated as the worst actor in the title role, that of Norbit's wife. He was additionally nominated for worst supporting actor after playing an Asian man, as well as worst screen couple. To supplement the nominations he received for his poor acting, Murphy was given a screenplay nomination for his role in writing the film.

"We decided that each of his characters was so offensive that he deserved individual nominations," said Razzies founder John Wilson.
