J. Hud and Leona Lewis Have Upcoming Duet

According to the British newspaper, The Sun, Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis have recorded a song that may be considered the theme song to the new "Sex and the City 2" movie.  The movie is due in theaters May 28th.

Eurweb.com reports, “The pair has recorded the song and it’s being discussed as either the main theme or to feature on the soundtrack,” the paper quoted a source as saying.

Both singers are veterans of Simon Cowell-judged singing competitions – Lewis a winner of Britain’s “The X Factor,” Hudson a finalist on “American Idol.”

“They each have incredible voices and will appeal to both the UK and the US. It’s perfect for the next ‘SATC’ film,” the source added.

This is definitely a powerful combination!!  Looking forward to hearing the song.

Jennifer Hudson's 'Winged Creatures' Rechristened 'Fragments'

After winning Oscars in 2006 for their roles in 'The Last King of Scotland' and 'Dreamgirls,' respectively, Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson worked together on a film called 'Winged Creatures.'

With a cast that includes Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Jackie Earle Haley, Josh Hutcherson, Embeth Davidtz, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Robin Weigert, the movie seemed, at the the very least, promising. Not quite.

It was shelved for three years while producers tried to find a distribution company. Now, with its new title, 'Fragments,' this Rowan Woods-directed film will be released in a limited number of theaters on July 31, with a DVD release date set for Aug. 4.

Jennifer Hudson News: William Balfour Arrested

According to the Chicago Tribune:

Jennifer Hudson's estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was arrested Monday in the slayings of the Oscar winner's mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew, according to Chicago police.

Formal charges have not yet been brought by the Cook County prosecutor's office, but Balfour was transferred from an Illinois state prison – where he has been held on suspicion of a parole violation-back into police custody, says police spokeswoman Monique Bond. Balfour, 27, who is separated from Hudson's sister, Julia, was arrested in the first-degree murders of Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, brother Jason Hudson, 29, and his own stepson, Julian King, 7.

It's good that the arrest was finally made. We must continue to keep the family in prayer.

Jennifer Hudson's Mother & Brother Found Shot in Home

Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson's mother (Darnell Hudson Donnerson) & brother (Jason Hudson) were found shot inside Darnell's Chicago home. According to CBS2 in Chicago:

Two adults were found fatally shot at a home at 70th Street and Yale Avenue at 3 p.m. Friday, authorities said. Willie Davis, the pastor of the Hudson family's church, Progressive Baptist, confirmed that 57-year-old Darnell Hudson Donnerson was one of the victims.

A neighbor tells TMZ the other victim was Jennifer's brother Jason. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies.

A Chicago police spokeswoman also said a 7-year-old boy was reported missing. Police identified him as Julian King, but they would not say whether he is a relative of the actress (Internet sources report that he's Jennifer's nephew). He is 5-foot tall, weighs 135 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

The police said that they are searching for a William Balfour as a suspect in the double homicide. They said that he is considered to be armed and dangerous and may be driving white 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate No. X584859 or a teal/green Chrysler Concord four-door with a left front headlight hanging out that is scratched all along its left side. The Chrysler is displaying temporary tags of 332K823. The missing boy may be in the vehicle. According to a source, the actress' sister (Julia) reported the boy missing from the home.

Jennifer is currently on her way back home to Chicago; the investigation is ongoing. Our prayers & condolences are with the Hudson Family.

"The Secret Life of Bees"

"The Secret Life of Bees" is on the list of my next must-see movies. It stars Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, & Sophie Okonedo. What a talented cast!! The release date is October 17th.

The movie's synopsis is: "The moving tale of Lily Owens, a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen, her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters, Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping, honey and the Black Madonna."
